Cecilia Wainryb
Professor Wainryb grew up in Argentina at a time of profound human rights violations,
which fed into her commitment to promoting human rights. Her research on how people
develop ideas about justice across cultures and in violence-exposed environments undergirds
her grasp of human rights, not as a code of laws, but as lived experiences
Her life and scholarship converge into a vision for the Tanner Center – to cultivate educational and advocacy opportunities for students and faculty, in collaboration with local and global human rights advocacy organizations.
